She told us about their homemade lemonade and said it's great with Absolut Citron.
Mixed in a ton of facts about the city and the surroundings, while also being very personable and friendly. There was never the thought of "this could use more beer" or "this could use more history" My boyfriend and I had a blast at this pub crawl. Katie was so knowledgeable and awesome!
My boyfriend is a huge fan of history and she was able to tell him things he's never heard! It was amazing and I'll be recommending to others when they travel here! Found this to be a very fun and all-round great evening out in Boston. Learnt a lot about the history and also drank some great beer and more so, met some lovely, friendly people! As a solo traveler, I felt very much included in the group of 10 and really enjoyed my crawl of the 'local taverns'. Our guide Chris was thoroughly entertaining, engaging, and gave us great talks about Boston's history as well as some fantastic beer recommendations!
The best in the North End — The dinner at Davide was outstanding. Prompt seating, excellent service and outstanding food. The wine list was excellent and diverse. Serving my 16 guests for dinner was prompt. Save your time and money! Upon arrival, we had to wait 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our party. Then we were told to go next door to have a drink as we arrived 20 min.
Funny because the place wasn't half full. Our table service was horrendous-we were told our appetizer and meal order had to go in at the same time and we couldn't get bread at the table until our order was placed. The food was ok-not great as the price and ratings suggested. Our waiter didn't have time to wait on us, he was more interested in impressing the table next to us filled with 21 year olds. It took 20 minutes once we got our check to waive anyone over to take our bill-thank goodness the busboy was on the job!
Oh yeah, and check your car before you leave if you have valeted it-our brand new car was side swiped and the marks were obviously tried to be wiped off-they denied it of course. Where NOT to go — We went to Davide for dinner based on its high ratings and great reviews, but the experience was beyond disappointing. It all started with the cold bread we were served at first I thought it was probably because of the unusually cold weather but that was just the beginning to many more disappointments to come.
Our appetitzers soup of the day and salads were bland and unexciting. The lobster ravioli was so far off I wasn't sure what was stuffed inside the thick 4 pieces of dough.
The stuffing was an orange looking whipped cream that had a seafood taste which could be lobster, or not. To sum it all up, everything from the presentation to the tastes of the food was nothing to write home about.
This subterranean restaurant's uncomplicated Italian cuisine has attracted a loyal clientele for over two decades. Those looking to carry on an intimate rendezvous should ask to be seated in one of the high-backed banquettes. The restaurant's wine cellar, with its extensive selection of domestic and imported wines and champagnes, has won national acclaim. A reserved, professional waitstaff keeps in line with the environment.
Consider starting with an order of simple ricotta cavatelli or a flavorful Caesar salad prepared tableside before moving onto a hearty veal chop that's stuffed with prosciutto and fontina. Only dessert disappoints, as a bland slice of cheesecake is about as good as it gets among the menu's limited options.
Fine dining at its best! Excellent service and food! The beautiful dining room with high banquets can't be matched anywhere in the north end or even boston for that matter. Very intimate and friendly the service was unbelievable. The wine list was exceptional. And the waiter was very knowledgable and you could tell he wanted us to have a great evening and wasn't trying to upsell or rush us. According to the hotel list of local Italian restaurants, this looked like a great place to eat but looks can be deceiving.
First off, the place looked like a dungeon. It was located in the cellar below the ground. Also, when you have to ask for bread, thats not a good sign. The menu was overpriced for mediocore, if not horrible food! As for drinks, I ordered just a soda, which by the way was so watered down, I couldn't tell the difference between tap water and my soda.
How can anyone outside of Boston enjoy this place? I had gone years ago with my grandparents and remembered it from my childhood. I was blown away by the attentive service, the great food and an amazing romantic atmosphere. Dinner in Boston doesnt get much better than this, and I should know- I work at the finest steakhouse in boston! The best restaurant in the East coast — I took my wife to Davide for the first time for her birthday and wow Davide was from from another league.
I was completely blown away by the level of professionalism but yet down to earth attitude of the wait staff. The wine was recommended to us by our server. The wine was moderately priced but yet delicious and flavorful.
The table side caesar salad was by far the best caesar salad me and my wife had. The rest of the meal was to die for. Every course was what my wife refers to as heavenly and sensual.
Definitely try the eggplant apt. Davide is my favorite restaurant in the east coast. Just when I was giving up on restaurants Davide has introduced cuisine that I never thought I will find. Thank you Davide restaurant. I am recommending it everywhere I go. It was a cold winter night, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a classy, warm, and friendly staff.
The food is great from appetizers to entrees. They have an infamous stock of grappa top 5 in the U. S , if that is your thing, and have been noted as being among the top 50 Italian restaurants in the country. The most amazing part about it, was that the prices were not off the charts; very reasonable, especially considering how great the food and overall ambiance is.
For an even quiter experience, ask to be seated in the smaller room in the back when making reservations. I would recommend this place for an occasion such as Valentine's Day, I hope you found this somewhat helpful, and enjoy this restaurant as much as we did! Romance — The most romantic restaurant in Boston, hands down. The staff makes you feel like royalty. Pricy but very much worth it for the service, food, and ambiance. Excellent for Business Dinners — I had a business dinner where I needed a setting to discuss things without shouting over obnoxious music or being bothered to death.
Typically over the course of a year, there are clear days, days of partly cloudy weather, and days of cloudy weather, with no distinct seasonal patterns.
Fog occurs, on average, about two days every month. The climate of the islands offers a particular attraction when hot, humid weather dominates the region. The modulating effect of surrounding waters typically produces significantly cooler temperatures in contrast with the city and its suburbs. Inversely, winter temperatures on the islands are warmer than those of mainland sites.
The frost-free period on the islands generally lasts from mid-May to November.
